Over the past 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties, China and Uzbekistan have become Uzbekistan's largest trading partner and major source of investment. According to Uzbek statistics, China's cumulative investment and financing in Uzbekistan has exceeded US$11 billion, with cooperation spanning a wide range of sectors, including oil and gas, chemicals, textiles, electricity, coal, building materials, agriculture, water conservancy, finance, logistics, automobile manufacturing, industrial parks, and international engineering contracting. China and Uzbekistan, with their distinct market sizes and resource endowments, offer broad development prospects, strong industrial complementarity, and enormous potential for cooperation.
From September 16 to 18, 2025, China will host the China-Central Asia (Uzbekistan) Trade Fair in Uzbekistan to further promote the development of China-Uzbekistan economic and trade relations and elevate the overall level of cooperation between China and Central Asia. The 4,000-square-meter exhibition, held at the Tashkent International Exhibition Center in Uzbekistan, will feature exhibits including new energy vehicles and accessories, artificial intelligence, machinery and equipment, hardware, medical supplies, home appliances and electronics, and consumer goods.
